Sneak Peek Tour of new Preserve for Alplaus and other local residents

Curious about the new Alplaus Kill Preserve, opening to the public on July 15?  Come join Barb Casey and other local residents for a preview tour on Thursday, June 12 from 6-7pm, rain or shine.  Please walk from home to the entrance on Alplaus Avenue, across from Maritime Drive, or park at the firehouse since there is limited parking at the preserve.

Wear long pants and long sleeves if possible, apply bug spray, and wear boots or shoes you can get a bit wet in case there are still a few muddy spots.  We'll take a short walk (about one mile) through mowed fields to the creek so you can see this beautiful piece of land donated to the Mohawk-Hudson Land Conservancy by Alplaus residents Gray and Vicki Watkins.

Twenty volunteers raked trails, set trail markers, and cut branches and vines for the new Alplaus Kill Preserve on Saturday, June 21 to get it ready for the official opening on July 15. Thanks to everyone who turned out and to staff from Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy.
